Altai Mountains

The Altai Mountains are a big, beautiful group of mountains in Central Asia. They sit where four countries meet: Russia, China, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan. These mountains are like a special meeting place for nature and people.
Many important rivers, like the Irtysh and the Ob, start their journey in the Altai Mountains. The tallest peak is called Belukha, and it reaches up high into the sky. The mountains are full of amazing sights, such as sparkling lakes and tall trees.
People who live near the Altai Mountains come from many different backgrounds. They enjoy life by taking care of animals, growing food, and exploring the rich forests. The name “Altai” means “gold” in some old languages, which makes the mountains sound very special.
The Altai Mountains are also home to many fascinating animals. You might see sheep, horses, and even snow leopards wandering through the valleys. The area is so special that part of it is protected to keep its beautiful nature safe for everyone to enjoy.
