Birds

Birds are wonderful creatures you can find all around the world. They have feathers, beaks, and lay eggs with hard shells. Most birds can fly through the air with their wings. There are many kinds of birds, from very tiny ones like the bee hummingbird to large ones like the common ostrich.

Birds first appeared a long time ago, even before humans. They evolved from dinosaurs, which are their ancient relatives. Today, birds are the only living dinosaurs left. They live in many places, such as forests, mountains, deserts, and even oceans. Some birds travel very far every year in a journey called migration.

People enjoy birds in many ways. Some birds, like chickens, give us food. Others, like parrots and songbirds, make great pets. Watching birds is a fun hobby called birdwatching. Birds also help nature by spreading seeds and pollinating flowers.

Sadly, some birds are in danger because people change their homes or make other troubles. But many people work hard to protect birds and their habitats. By learning about birds, we can all help keep these amazing animals safe and happy.
