Buzz Aldrin

Buzz Aldrin was an amazing astronaut who helped explore space. He was born on January 20, 1930, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. His real name was Edwin Eugene Aldrin Jr., but everyone called him Buzz. Buzz loved learning and playing sports when he was young.

Buzz went to a special school called the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. He learned to fly airplanes and even flew many missions during a time when countries did not get along. After that, he studied very hard and got a big degree in astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In 1969, Buzz became famous because he was the second person to walk on the Moon after Neil Armstrong. They flew together on a mission called Apollo 11. While Michael Collins stayed in the spaceship, Buzz and Neil did fun experiments and collected rocks from the Moon. Their trip was a big achievement for all people.

After leaving NASA, Buzz kept working to help others learn about space. He wrote books and shared his ideas about traveling to Mars. Buzz believed that one day people might live on Mars! He even made a clever plan called the Aldrin cycler to help spaceships travel there.

Buzz Aldrin will always be remembered for his big adventures in space and for inspiring many young explorers.
