Calculations are like fun puzzles with numbers! They help us find answers to different math questions.

We use calculations every day. For example, when we multiply two numbers, like 7 and 6, we are doing a calculation. Even when we try to guess how many friends can fit in a room, that is a kind of calculation too!

Long ago, people used small stones called pebbles to count things. They moved these stones on a tool called an abacus. This was one of the first ways to do calculations. Today, we have electronic calculators that make it even easier and faster!

Calculations help us solve many problems, from sharing cookies at a party to figuring out how far a planet is from the sun. They are a big part of mathematics and help us understand the world around us.
