Cambridge is a lovely city in England. It is found in a place called Cambridgeshire, not too far from big cities like London. The city sits near a pretty river called the River Cam.

People have lived in this area for a very long time. Long ago, during a time called the Bronze Age, families built homes here. Later, when the Romans came, they built a small fort. After them, people from a place called the Vikings also lived here.

Today, Cambridge is most famous for its big school, the University of Cambridge. This school started in the year 1209 and has many beautiful buildings. One of these is King's College Chapel, which has amazing windows you can see pictures of. The university also has a big place to read books called the Cambridge University Library.

The city is also a place where new ideas grow. Many smart people work in science and technology here. The area around Cambridge is sometimes called the Silicon Fen because it is like a place full of clever inventions.

Every year, people in Cambridge enjoy fun events. One is the Strawberry Fair, where you can see music, art, and many interesting things. There is also a happy time for people who love drinks at the Cambridge Beer Festival.

Cambridge has a rich history and many places to explore. It is a city where old buildings stand next to new ideas, making it a special place to visit or live.
