What Is Cricket?
Cricket is a fun game played with a bat and a ball. Two teams of eleven players take turns trying to score points, called runs. The game is played on a field with a special strip of ground called a pitch. At each end of the pitch are small targets called wickets.
One player, the bowler, throws the ball toward a player from the other team. That player tries to hit the ball with the bat. If the ball hits the wickets, the player is out. Players can also score runs by running between the wickets or by hitting the ball far away.
