The Eiffel Tower is a very tall, pretty tower in Paris, France. It is one of the most famous buildings in the whole world! People from all over come to see it.
The tower was built for a big party called the 1889 World's Fair. It was to celebrate 100 years since the French Revolution. The tower is made of iron and has three floors you can visit. The top floor has the highest viewing area in the European Union. You can see all of Paris from up there!
The Eiffel Tower is very tall—about 330 meters or 1,083 feet. It was the tallest building in the world until a tall building in New York City called the Chrysler Building was built in 1930. Even today, the Eiffel Tower is the most visited paid monument in the world. Thousands of people go there every day.
There is even a special apartment inside the tower that once belonged to a man named Gustave Eiffel. The tower is painted many colors to look nice against the sky. It gets repainted every seven years!
