Welcome to Gabon!
Gabon is a beautiful country on the Atlantic coast of Central Africa. It is surrounded by Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, and the Gulf of Guinea. Gabon is about the size of a big state and has around 2.3 million people living there.
Nature and Cities
Gabon has many different lands. You can find coastal plains, mountains like the Cristal Mountains and Chaillu Massif, and a savanna in the east. The country is full of forests and homes to many animals, including chimpanzees, gorillas, and African forest elephants. Libreville is the capital and the biggest city. It is a lively place where many people live and work.
History and Language
Long ago, the land was home to groups like the Bambenga. Later, the Kingdom of Orungu was formed. In the late 1800s, France took control, and Gabon became independent in 1960. Today, the official language is French, and many people also speak their own local languages. Most people practice Christianity.

Gabon is known for its rich culture. Storytellers share amazing tales, and special masks are used in ceremonies. Music is very important, with traditional instruments like drums and the balafon. Gabon also loves sports, and its national football team has played in big tournaments. The country is a great place for fishing, especially for big fish like the Atlantic tarpon!
