What is a Grass Court?

A grass court is a special kind of tennis court made from real grass. These courts are very old and were used when tennis was first called “lawn tennis.” The grass makes the court look green and nice.

Where Are Grass Courts Found?

Grass courts are mostly found in the United Kingdom and Australia. The most famous tennis tournament on grass is the Wimbledon Championships. Wimbledon is one of the biggest tennis events in the world and has always been played on grass since 1988.

Why Do People Know About Grass Courts?

Grass courts are special because they make the tennis ball bounce low and move fast. This means players need to be quick and strong. Serving the ball well is very important on grass. Many great tennis players, like Roger Federer and Serena Williams, have won matches on grass courts.

Grass courts need lots of care to stay in good shape, which makes them rarer than other kinds of courts like hard courts or clay courts. But they still hold a special place in tennis history.
