Heads are the special tops of our bodies that help us see, hear, smell, and taste the world around us. They are found on many living things, from humans to bees and even some sea creatures.

The human head holds important parts like the brain, which helps us think and feel, and the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. These pieces work together so we can enjoy sunny days, listen to birds singing, smell flowers, and eat yummy foods.

Animals also have heads, though they look different. For example, a bee’s head has tiny eyes and special parts to smell and taste flowers. Over millions of years, many animals developed heads to better sense their world—a process called cephalization.

Artists love drawing heads because they show so many unique features. They often start with simple shapes, like an egg, and then add details to make each head look special and real.
