Leonhard Euler
Leonhard Euler was a brilliant thinker from Switzerland. He loved math and science and did amazing work in many areas. People remember him for changing the way we do math today.
Euler was born on April 15, 1707, in Basel, Switzerland. From a very young age, he was very good at math. He started university when he was only 13! He loved learning and spent his life solving tough math problems.
Euler helped create the math symbols we use today. He picked the letter π to talk about circles. He also used the letter i for special numbers. His ideas made math easier and clearer for everyone.
Euler’s work was not just in math. He also helped improve ships, telescopes, and microscopes. His ideas are still used in science and engineering all around the world. Even after he lost his sight, he kept working and writing.
Many things are named after Euler because of his big impact on math and science. He wrote more than 866 books and papers, and his work continues to inspire new discoveries every day.
