Welcome to Lower Saxony
Lower Saxony is a big, beautiful state in Northern Germany. It is the second-largest state in all of Germany! It has lots of different lands, from sandy beaches by the North Sea to green hills and even some mountains.
Fun Places and Lands
Lower Saxony touches many interesting places. You can visit Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg nearby. It also borders the Netherlands. Two small areas called enclaves belong to Bremen. Big cities here include Hanover, the capital, and Braunschweig, Oldenburg, and Osnabrück.
The land changes a lot! In the northwest, you can find the East Frisian Islands. These islands are great for fun and sun. Further south, there are hills and part of the Harz Mountains. The Lüneburg Heath is a big open area with heathland. It is very pretty and full of nature. This area also grows lots of apples because the weather and soil are just right.
Rivers and Heights
Lower Saxony has many important rivers. These include parts of the River Elbe, the Ems, Weser, Aller, and others. The highest point is the Wurmberg in the Harz Mountains. It stands tall at 971 meters. The lowest point is near Freepsum, just below sea level.
Friendly and Diverse
People in Lower Saxony are friendly. Many come from different places around the world. This makes the state very interesting and full of different cultures. The biggest city is Hanover, followed by Braunschweig, Oldenburg, Osnabrück, and Wolfsburg.
Lower Saxony is a wonderful place with beaches, hills, rivers, and friendly people. It is a great part of Germany to explore!
