Adapted from Wikipedia Β· Explorer experience
The Nile is a very long and special river in Africa. It is the longest river in the whole world, stretching over 7,000 kilometers or about 4,400 miles. The Nile starts in different places and comes together to flow north into the Mediterranean Sea.
The Nile has two big parts called the White Nile and the Blue Nile. The White Nile begins near Lake Victoria and flows through countries like Uganda. The Blue Nile starts near Lake Tana in Ethiopia. These two rivers meet in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, and then continue north.
For thousands of years, the Nile has been very important to people. Long ago, it helped the Ancient Egyptian civilization grow crops and live in a dry area. Even today, the Nile gives water to many people and helps make electricity. It is a wonderful river that touches many lives.
