A Special City by Three Rivers

Passau is a lovely city in the Lower Bavaria part of Bavaria, a state in Germany. It is called the Dreiflüssestadt, which means "City of Three Rivers." This is because three big rivers—the Danube, the Inn, and the Ilz—meet right there. Imagine seeing three rivers come together! This special place has been important for a very long time.

The city has about 50,000 people, and many are students at the University of Passau. The university is well-known for teaching subjects like economics, law, and computer science. Because of its beautiful location, Passau is a favorite spot for visitors who love nature and pretty views.

Beautiful Sights

Passau is famous for its stunning buildings and scenic rivers. One of the main attractions is St. Stephen's Cathedral, which has a huge organ and shows off beautiful Italian Baroque design. Visitors also enjoy walking around the historic "Old City" and seeing lovely churches like the Jesuit church of St. Michael. The city square, Domplatz, is a nice place to stroll and see old buildings.

Gentle Weather

Passau has a mild climate because it is near three rivers. The rivers help keep temperatures comfortable. Summers are not too hot, and winters are not too cold. Passau gets rain all year, which helps plants grow well. It is a nice place to live and visit!
