Robots
Robots are special machines that can do jobs by themselves. Some robots look like humans, while others are built for specific tasks, like helping in factories or hospitals. They can work with or without help from people.
Robots come in many shapes and sizes. There are human-like robots, such as Hondaβs ASIMO, and others used in factories, hospitals, or as tiny drones. Some robots are very small, like nanorobots, and some work together in groups called swarm robots. These robots can move and make choices by themselves.
The study of robots is called robotics. It began a long time ago with simple machines and has grown with new technology. Today, robots help people by doing jobs that are dangerous, far away, or need to be very exact. People also think about how robots might change work and life in the future.
The word robot started in the Czech language in 1923. It was made up by a writer named Karel Capek for his play "R.U.R." The word comes from the Czech robotnik, which means "forced worker." This word comes from an older word, robota, which means hard or required work.
Robots are used in many places. In factories, they help make cars and other products. In space, robots explore other planets. At home, small robots can clean floors. Robots can also help doctors in hospitals and assist people who need extra support with daily tasks.
Robots are exciting because they can do things humans cannot. They help make our world safer and more efficient. As robots get better, they might do even more jobs to help us in the future.
