Welcome to Seattle!

Seattle is a big, busy city in the United States. It is the largest city in the state of Washington. Many people live there—about 780,995 in 2024! Seattle is special because it sits between water on two sides: Puget Sound and Lake Washington. This makes it a great place for boats and ships.

A City of Music and Nature

Seattle has a long history with music. Many famous musicians started their careers here, like Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana. The city loves music and has many places to hear live bands and songs. Seattle is also known for its parks and green spaces. Discovery Park is a big park with forests and beaches. Families love to walk, play, and have picnics there.

Fun Places to Visit

Seattle has many fun places to explore. The Pike Place Market is a famous market where people can see fish being thrown and buy fresh food. Pioneer Square is a nice area with old buildings and shops. Families can also visit the Museum of Flight to see airplanes and learn about flying. In the summer, many people enjoy the Seafair celebrations with parades and fun events.

Living in Seattle

Seattle is a city where people from many different places live together. It is a busy city with tall buildings and busy streets. The city has many schools, including the big University of Washington. Seattle is also a place where people can ride buses, streetcars, and even take ferries to nearby islands. The city’s airport, Sea-Tac, helps people travel all over the world.

Seattle is a wonderful place to live and visit, with its mix of music, nature, and fun activities for everyone!
