Imagine a Giant Tower

Imagine a tower so tall that it could reach more than a mile into the sky! This amazing idea was thought up for a design contest in 2015. The plan was to build it in New York City, a big, busy place in the United States.

A Town in the Sky

This tower would not just be tall. It would be like a whole town stacked up high! Inside, there would be places to grow food, just like a farm, called vertical farming. You might even find a spot that feels like a beach! There would also be a tiny mountain range, a large stadium for games, and a special area with tall redwood forest trees.

Fun Places and Homes

People would live and work in this giant tower. There would be shops too, like Apple, Best Buy, Target, Macy's, McDonald's, Starbucks, and Walmart. If it were ever built, it would become the world's tallest building, the first to rise higher than a mile!
