Uncrewed spacecraft are special machines that fly in space without any people inside. They are like robots that can go to places too far or too dangerous for humans. Scientists use them to learn about stars, planets, and faraway parts of our solar system.

Some of these spacecraft go to places like Venus or Saturn. These worlds are too hot or too far for people to visit right now. The first uncrewed spacecraft was called Sputnik 1. It was launched in 1957 and became the first object made by people to orbit Earth.

Many uncrewed spacecraft are called satellites. They orbit Earth and help us with things like weather forecasts and talking on the phone from far away. Others are called probes. They travel to planets and send pictures and information back to scientists on Earth. Some even carry tools to study the Sun or faraway stars.

These amazing machines show us how much we can learn about space without putting people in danger. They help us understand our universe in new and exciting ways.
