The Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences (CBMS) is an umbrella organization of seventeen professional societies in the mathematical sciences in the United States. It helps groups work together to support and advance mathematics in the country.

The CBMS was founded in 1960, replacing earlier groups formed during and after World War II. It works closely with the International Mathematical Union, which connects mathematical societies from around the world. The CBMS also serves as a link between its member societies and the US Government.

Among its members are well-known organizations such as the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America. The CBMS helps these societies coordinate projects and share ideas, making it easier for mathematicians across the United States to collaborate and support each other’s work.
