SIAM Journal on Computing

Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Adventurer experience

The SIAM Journal on Computing is a scientific journal that looks at the math and rules of computer science. It is published by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, often called SIAM. This journal is important because it shares research about how math helps us understand computers better.

Even though its short name is SIAM J. Comput., many people call it SICOMP. This journal sometimes has groups of papers from big computer science meetings. For example, it publishes papers from the IEEE Annual Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science (FOCS) and the Annual ACM Symposium on Theory of Computing (STOC). These meetings are where new ideas in computer science are shared, and some of the best papers are invited to appear in special issues of the journal. This means that readers of SICOMP can find important and thoughtful work in computer science each year.
