The Royal Easter Show is a big, fun event that happens every year during Easter in Auckland, New Zealand. It started way back in 1843 and has lots of exciting things to see and do. You can enjoy agricultural events, beautiful art exhibitions, and thrilling live entertainment. There are also sporting events, fun rides, colorful sideshows, a busy marketplace, and even circuses.
The show takes place at the Auckland Showgrounds in the neighborhood of Epsom. It’s a wonderful place for families to spend the day together, learning and having fun. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand, the show did not happen in 2020 or 2021. Every year when it returns, it’s a celebration of community, culture, and creativity.
History
The Royal Easter Show started in 1843 and happens every year during Easter in Auckland. It includes fun activities like rides, live shows, and places to see farm animals.
In 2020 and 2021, the show was cancelled because of rules to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand. This was only the second time in over 177 years that the show did not happen.
Competitions and awards
The Royal Easter Show features the Wine Awards, which is New Zealand's longest-running wine competition and one of the most competitive. It also hosts the Art Awards, New Zealand's largest open art competition. These events bring together talented artists and winemakers to showcase their skills and win recognition for their work.
