A blondie is a type of dessert bar that comes from the United States. Unlike chocolate brownies, blondies are made with brown sugar and vanilla, which gives them a lighter color and a sweet, buttery taste. People enjoy blondies as a tasty treat because of their rich flavor and soft texture. They are often made with butter, eggs, and flour, and can include mix-ins like nuts or raisins, making each blondie unique and delicious. Blondies have become a popular snack all over the world, enjoyed by people of all ages.

History

Originally, the term "brownie" didn’t just mean chocolate brownies — it also included blondies. The first known recipe for any kind of brownie was written by Fannie Farmer in 1896, and it used molasses. As chocolate brownies became more popular in the early 1900s, the name "brownie" became linked mainly with chocolate. By the mid-1900s, molasses-based brownies were called "blonde brownies," which later got shortened to just "blondies."
