Manaiakalani
Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience
Mānaiakalani is a special group of stars known as a constellation in Polynesian culture. Its name means "The Chief's Fishline" and it tells a story about a powerful demi-god named Māui. In the stories, Māui used a big fishhook to pull huge fish from the ocean, and these fish became the islands that people now live on.
The constellation Mānaiakalani is mainly formed by the stars in the constellation Scorpius, which looks like a scorpion, and also includes a group of stars called the Navigator's Triangle. These stars helped ancient Polynesian people navigate across the vast ocean, guiding them to new places and helping them travel safely.
