Xinhua Subdistrict is a local area in Tongzhou District, Beijing. It covers 4.45 square kilometers and had 37,286 residents in 2020. The subdistrict is named after Xinhua Avenue, which means "New China" in Chinese and runs through the area. Xinhua Subdistrict borders several other towns and subdistricts, including Yongshun Town to the north and west, Tongyun Subdistrict to the east, Zhongcang Subdistrict to the south, and Beiyuan Subdistrict to the southwest. It is an important part of Beijing's urban landscape.

History

In 1948, four townships from the former Tongxian joined together to create Tongzhou City. Then, in 1950, the city became a town. Later, in 1997, Tongzhou Town was disbanded, and two subdistricts called Beicheng and Xinjian merged to form Xinhua Subdistrict.

Administrative division

Xinhua Subdistrict is located in Tongzhou District, Beijing. It covers an area of 4.45 square kilometers and had a population of 37,286 residents in 2020. The subdistrict borders Yongshun Town to the north and west, Tongyun Subdistrict to the east, Zhongcang Subdistrict to the south, and Beiyuan Subdistrict to the southwest.
