Daniel Hernandez, known as 6ix9ine, Tekashi69, or Tekashi 6ix9ine, is an American rapper born on May 8, 1996. He became well-known for his loud rapping style, bright hair, and many tattoos. His music became popular in 2017 with a song called "Gummo" and later with his mixtape Day69 and album Dummy Boy. Some of his popular songs include "Fefe" with Nicki Minaj and "Gooba".

Besides his music, 6ix9ine has had many legal troubles. He was charged with serious crimes linked to gang activity and was sent to prison. After agreeing to help the police, he was released early but faced criticism from many in the music world. Even after leaving prison and releasing more music, his reputation was damaged, and he lost support from many fans and other artists.

Personal life

Daniel Hernandez was born on May 8, 1996, in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City. His mother worked in factories and as a house cleaner, and she came from Atlixco, Puebla, Mexico. His father was from Río Piedras, Puerto Rico.

Hernandez grew up going to church with his older brother. He went to Public School 59 for elementary school, Juan Morel Campos Secondary School for middle school, and Legacy High School for high school, but he left school around the tenth grade.

When Hernandez was nine, he met his father, whom he had not known before. His father struggled with addiction and spent time in prison. Hernandez's stepfather was sadly killed near their home in 2010. This was hard for Hernandez, and he stopped taking care of himself for a while. He was eventually expelled from school and began working different jobs, such as being a busboy.
