Alpine skiing was one of the sports at the 1994 Winter Olympics, held in Lillehammer, Norway. There were ten different events. The events took place north of Lillehammer. Speed races were at Kvitfjell and technical races were at Hafjell. The alpine skiing competitions happened between February 13 and February 21. It was a special time for athletes from all over the world to race on the snowy slopes of Norway.
Medal summary
Ten countries won medals in alpine skiing. Germany won the most gold medals, with three golds and one silver. The host team from Norway won the most medals overall, with five. Markus Wasmeier of Germany won two gold medals in the super G and giant slalom. Vreni Schneider of Switzerland won three medals, one of each kind. Tommy Moe of the United States won gold in the downhill and silver in the super G. Kjetil André Aamodt of Norway won two silvers and a bronze.
Svetlana Gladishiva won a silver medal, the first for Russia in alpine skiing. Slovenia earned its first Winter Olympics medals, with three in total.

Participating nations
Forty-six nations sent skiers to compete in alpine skiing at the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. Some countries, like Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine, were taking part in Olympic alpine skiing for the very first time.
