Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) is one of the biggest and most important technical universities in Belarus. History

Belarusian National Technical University started in 1920 as the Belarusian State Polytechnic Institute. It grew from a school in Minsk. Over time, it changed its name and added new subjects to study. By 1997, it was known as one of the best engineering schools in the Belarusian educational system. In 2002, it became the Belarusian National Technical University.

Faculties

Belarusian National Technical University has many schools, called faculties. Students can learn useful skills there. Some schools are Automotive and Tractor, Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Power Engineering. Others teach topics like Information Technologies, Management, and Sports and Technical studies. There is also a special branch in Soligorsk and an International Institute for Distance Education. This makes it easy for students from many places to study.

Well-known graduates include Vyacheslav Kebich, who was Prime Minister of Belarus from 1991 to 1994, Gennady Novitsky, who was Prime Minister from 2001 to 2003, and Gennadi Gagulia, who was Prime Minister of Abkhazia between 1995 and 2018.
