Cao Yuan

Cao Yuan (Chinese: 曹缘; pinyin: Cáo Yuán; born 7 February 1995) is a Chinese diver. He has won many medals at the Olympics, including four gold medals. Cao Yuan has also won gold medals at the World Championships and World Cups. He is known as one of the best male divers ever. His skills and success have made him a role model in diving.

Early life

Cao was born on February 7, 1995, in Hunan province. He started diving when he was five because his mother thought it would help him learn discipline.

Cao’s motto for life is: “Go your own way and see your own scenery. Be calm for life's ups and downs.”

Career

Cao Yuan is an amazing diver from China. He has won many gold medals in big competitions around the world. In 2014, he was the first diver ever to win three gold medals in one World Diving Series event in Canada.

Cao has won gold medals at the World Championships and the Summer Olympics. In 2016, he won gold in the men's 3m springboard in Rio and a bronze in the 3m synchro with his partner Qin Kai. In 2020, he won gold in the individual 10m platform in Tokyo, and in 2024, he won gold again in the 10m platform in Paris, making him the first diver to win this event in back-to-back Olympics.

Accolades

Cao Yuan was named Male Diver of the Year by the International Swimming Federation in 2014 and 2018. In 2014, he also received the 4 May Youth Medal from Beijing.
