Central Athens (regional unit)
Central Athens (Greek: Κεντρικός Τομέας Αθηνών) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is in the middle of the country and part of the larger region called Attica.
This area includes the center of the busy city of Athens. Here you can find many important buildings, schools, and places to visit.
The regional unit covers the central part of the big group of neighborhoods known as Greater Athens. It is a key spot for learning about modern Greek life and history. Many people live, work, and study here, and it is a lively part of the country's capital.
Administration
In 2011, Greece changed how it organizes its government areas. Because of these changes, the area called Central Athens was created from part of an older area named Athens Prefecture.
