Chile competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, from February 7 to February 23. The team had six athletes who took part in three different winter sports. This was twice as many athletes as Chile sent to the Winter Olympics four years earlier.
These Games were special because it was the first time a Chilean team competed in Russia. Many years before, in 1980, Chile and many other countries did not go to the Summer Olympics in Moscow.

Freestyle skiing

Chile had one athlete in freestyle skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Another place opened up for women’s ski cross, so more Chilean athletes could join. Dominique Ohaco competed in the women’s slopestyle event but did not make the final. This was the first time Chile joined in freestyle skiing at the Winter Olympics.
