Crossnet

Crossnet is a fun game that mixes volleyball and four square. It was made by an American company named Crossnet. In this game, players hit a ball into a net with four sections. The game is fast and exciting. It is easy to learn and can be played by people of all ages. It is a great way to stay active and have fun with friends.

History

In 2017, three friends—Chris and Greg Meade and their friend Mike Delpapa—created a new game called Crossnet in Woodstock, Connecticut. They were inspired by another game called KanJam and the classic game four square.

After finishing school, the team tested their idea by turning volleyball nets into a prototype. They worked hard to make the game official and began selling it in 2018. The game grew quickly, and by 2022, it was being played in over 100,000 homes and schools across many countries. In 2025, a company called Vivere Ltd. bought Crossnet.

Rules

Crossnet is a fun game for four players. It is played in four different squares. The game starts with the player in the fourth square serving the ball to the player in the second square.

If the ball lands in a player's square, that player is out. The player in the fourth square gets a point, but only if they are still in the game. Then, the other players move to the next square clockwise.

The goal is to be the first to reach 11 points, and you need to win by at least 2 points.

Players are out if the ball lands in their square, if they cannot hit the ball to another square, if they hit the ball twice, or if they hit it out of turn. The ball is in play as soon as it lands outside a player's square. Players must use their hands to hit the ball and cannot catch or hold it.

Strategy

The goal of the game is to knock other players out of their higher squares so you can move up to the top square and earn points. Sometimes, if one player is far ahead, the other three players will work together to try to bring the leader down.

Variations

Crossnet has two main setups: one for indoor wood courts and another for outdoor grass and sand. The company also makes versions for pickleball, swimming pool games, and soccer. There is also a longer net that lets eight players play at once, split into two teams of two facing each other.
