Eltingville Transit Center

Eltingville Transit Center is a park and ride transit center in Eltingville, Staten Island. It is at the corner of Arthur Kill Road and Richmond Avenue, where the Korean War Veterans Parkway ends. It was finished in 2004 and has many helpful features for people who are traveling.

You can find schedules and maps there. There is free parking for people leaving their cars. Vending machines sell soda, snacks, and OMNY cards for easy payments. The center is between the Eltingville Staten Island Railway station and the Staten Island Mall. The Yukon Depot is also nearby.

History

In December 2022, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced plans to add more parking spots at the Eltingville Transit Center. They planned to increase the number of spots by 34 percent, from 437 to 586. The new spots will be added to the west side of the current parking lot. The project will also include new lighting, a new curb, and better drainage. It will cost $4.3 million and finish in spring 2023.

Local

Some local bus routes include the S55 which goes from the Staten Island Mall to Rossville. The S56 goes to Tottenville High School. The S59 goes from Port Richmond to Eltingville. The S74/S84 Limited goes to Bricktown Mall.

Express

There are express bus routes, such as the SIM1 which goes to Lower Manhattan. The SIM1C goes to Midtown Manhattan. The SIM4C also goes to Midtown Manhattan.
