The Erwin Schrödinger Prize (German: Erwin Schrödinger-Preis) is a special award given out every year. It is given by the Austrian Academy of Sciences to honor people from Austria for their important work in mathematics and the natural sciences.

The prize started in 1958 and was first given to the famous scientist it is named after, Erwin Schrödinger. This award helps to show how amazing the discoveries and ideas of people in Austria can be.

Prize criteria and endowment

The Erwin Schrödinger Prize is given each year by the Austrian Academy of Sciences. It is for people living in Austria who have done great work in math and science. The prize is not given to members of the Academy.

The ceremony happens every October. Winners receive €15,000 each year, paid each month.
