At the 1952 Winter Olympics, three exciting figure skating events took place. The competition started with ladies' compulsory figures on February 16 and 17 at the outdoor Jordal Amfi rink. Then, men's figures were held on February 19. After that, free skating events for ladies, men, and pairs happened at the large Bislett Stadium. The weather stayed good, and the ice was in great condition.

One of the most memorable moments was when Dick Button won his second Olympic gold medal. He also became the first skater to land a triple loop jump during a competition. This amazing feat showed how skilled the athletes were and excited everyone watching.
