Football at the 2000 Summer Olympics
The football tournament at the 2000 Summer Olympics started on September 13. Young football teams from around the world came together to compete.
The men's tournament had teams with players under 23 years old, but each team could also include up to three older players. This tournament happened every four years as part of the Summer Olympic Games. Teams from countries that are members of FIFA were invited to take part with their under-23 men's and women's teams.
Venues
The football games at the 2000 Summer Olympics took place in different stadiums. Hindmarsh Stadium was used only for the men's tournament, and extra seats were added just for the games. Olympic Stadium was used only for the final match of the men's tournament.
