Fougamou

Fougamou is a small town in Ngounié Province in Gabon. About 4,100 people live there, and it is the capital of Tsamba-Magotsi Department. The town sits on the west bank of the Ngounié River along the N1 road, between Lambaréné and Mouila.
Fougamou has a mission house, a market, hotels, restaurants, a pharmacy, and shops. There is also an airport, and shared taxis pass through regularly. Nearby are waterfalls called the Samba Falls or Impératrice Falls. To the east are the Chaillu Mountains and Waka National Park. North of the town is the village of Sindara, which has an old mission and rapids on the river.
