Glires

Glires is a group of animals that includes rodents and lagomorphs, like rabbits, hares, and pikas. Scientists have long wondered if these animals truly belong together. Studies of their shape and fossils found in 2003 showed they share a common ancestor. Recent DNA studies also support this idea, though some results have been unclear. Research suggests that animals called Scandentia might also be closely related to Glires.
