Henry Cabourn Pocklington

Henry Cabourn Pocklington was an English physicist and mathematician. He was born on 28 January 1870 in Exeter and died on 15 May 1952 in Leeds. He worked mainly as a schoolmaster.

In 1914, Pocklington discovered something called Pocklington's primality test. This helps mathematicians find out if certain large numbers are prime numbers. He also created Pocklington's algorithm. This is an important tool in number theory.

Besides his work with numbers, Pocklington was the first to develop an equation that explains how electric current flows in a wire antenna. This equation is called Pocklington's integral equation. It became very useful for studying and designing antennas.
