Hopscotch Music Festival

The Hopscotch Music Festival was a three-day event held each year in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. It brought together many bands to perform on different stages. It was a fun and lively gathering for music lovers.

The festival was famous for its many different kinds of music. Fans could enjoy rock, hip-hop, metal, folk, electronic, and experimental styles. There were large outdoor stages in Raleigh City Plaza and Red Hat Amphitheater, as well as smaller club shows. There was something for everyone to enjoy.

History

The Hopscotch Music Festival began in 2010. It was started by Greg Lowenhagen and Grayson Currin when they worked at a local newspaper. In 2015, new owners took over the festival.

The first festival was held from September 9 to 11, 2010. It had 130 bands playing in 10 places.

The festival grew each year. By 2011, it had 150 bands in 13 venues. By 2012, it had 175 bands in 15 venues. The festival kept growing, with about 140 to 175 bands each year. It featured many kinds of music, like rock, hip-hop, metal, folk, electronic, and more.

Each year brought new artists and fun performances. This made Hopscotch a favorite event for music lovers in Raleigh and beyond.
