Introduction

ibml, short for Imaging Business Machines, L.L.C., was started in 1992. It is based in Irondale, Alabama in the United States.

What ibml Does

ibml is a private company. It helps people turn paper documents into digital files.

How ibml Helps

ibml offers both hardware and software. These tools make it easy to scan and manage documents. Their products help change paper records into digital images. This makes it simpler to store and find information on computers.

Why This Matters

Many places still have lots of paper records. ibml helps turn these into digital files. This makes information safer and faster to use. By providing complete solutions for scanning and document capture, ibml helps businesses and organizations keep their information organized and easy to find.

History and technology

ibml began as a document scanning company on August 1, 1992, started by Gary Murphy. Today, it focuses on information capture, making and supporting fast document capture scanners and software. One of its key products, the ImageTrac scanner, was first used by Australian Airlines to read ticket numbers and save ticket images.

Over time, ibml created many new products. In 1997, they made SoftTrac software to work with the ImageTrac scanners. New versions of the ImageTrac scanners came out in 2000, 2003, and later. In 2009, these scanners were picked for the 2010 United States census. Recent products include the ImageTrac Series 5000, SoftTrac Capture Suite, and the fast ibmlFUSiON™ scanner.
