Iran at the 2014 Winter Olympics
Iran competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, from February 7 to February 23, 2014. This was special because it was the largest team Iran had ever sent to the Winter Olympics. Five athletes took part in two different sports.
The 2014 Games were also important because it was the first time an Iranian Olympic team competed in Russia. This happened many years after a group of countries, including Iran, did not go to the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. That did not happen because of a conflict called the Soviet–Afghan War.
Alpine skiing
