The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia has twelve gallery spaces on two levels. On the first level, you can find galleries for Architecture, the Qur’an and other Manuscripts, and art from India, China, and the Malay Peninsula. The second level includes galleries for Arms & Armor, Textiles, Jewelry, and Coins, plus three galleries showing art made from Metal, Wood, and Ceramics. The museum is famous for its collection of ancient Islamic glassware.

The museum also has educational and research areas, along with facilities for protecting old items. One of its most famous exhibits is a fully restored room from the early 1800s, called the "Ottoman Room". Experts used what they learned from restoring this room to work with others around the world and talk about how to care for old wooden buildings in warm climates like Southeast Asia.

Architecture

The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia is very big, covering 30,000 square meters. It has modern designs but also includes traditional Islamic styles. The building has blue-tiled domes that look like colorful fabrics, making it a famous sight in Kuala Lumpur. The entrance looks like an iwan, decorated with special tiles made by artists from Iran.
