KIPP San Jose Collegiate

KIPP San Jose Collegiate is a high school in San Jose, California, part of the KIPP chain. It is in the East Side Union High School District and started in 2008. Melissa Gonzales, a teacher from another KIPP school, started it.
The school opened in August 2008 and now has many students. In 2016–2017, there were 499 students. Most are Latino, some are Asian/Pacific Islander, and a few are African American. Many students come from families that face money problems, and some are still learning English.
KIPP San Jose Collegiate has done very well on tests, even when other schools did not. In 2015, it was one of the best schools in the United States for giving hard tests to students, according to the Washington Post. In 2017, it was ranked 23rd in the whole country by _U.S. News & World Report. The school’s sports teams are called the Wolfpack.
