Krishna Mandir, Lahore

The Krishna Mandir is a Hindu temple (mandir) for the god Krishna. It is in Ravi Road, opposite Timber Market in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It is important for Hindu people who live nearby.

In 2006, some news reports said the temple might be torn down, but this was later shown to be wrong. Today, Krishna Mandir is one of only two working Hindu temples in Lahore. The other is Valmiki Mandir. It shows how different cultures and religions can live together in the same city.

2006 reported demolition

The Krishna Mandir is a special temple for the Hindu god Krishna in Lahore, Pakistan. In 2006, some news reports said the temple was torn down to make space for a big building. But this was not true.

Leaders in Pakistan said the temple was safe and had not been destroyed. A court stopped building work for a short time but later said the temple was still standing. People in India were worried, but after checking, they learned the temple was not torn down.
