List of Aragonese monarchs
Adapted from Wikipedia · Adventurer experience
This is a list of the kings and queens of Aragon. The Kingdom of Aragon began between 950 and 1035. It started when the County of Aragon left the Kingdom of Navarre. This happened because of the will of King Sancho III, who lived from 1004 to 1035.
In 1164, a marriage changed everything. The Aragonese princess Petronila married the Catalan count Ramon Berenguer IV. This created what we call the Crown of Aragon. Over time, more lands joined, like Valencia, Majorca, and Sicily.
The Crown of Aragon kept its own special ways until 1713. That year, big changes happened after a war called the War of the Spanish Succession.

During a big war called the Reapers' War, the land of Aragon stayed loyal to its king, Philip IV. Nearby Catalonia supported different leaders, Louis XIII and Louis XIV. Later, Portugal left to become independent in 1640. Eventually, Charles II, the last king of this line, passed away without children to take over.
War of the Spanish Succession
During the War of the Spanish Succession, the rulers of Aragon changed. From 1705 to 1707, rulers from Austria controlled Aragon and created the Council of Aragon. But after the Battle of Almansa in April 1707, Philip V of Spain took control of Aragon. He made the Nueva Planta decrees in June 1707, which removed Aragon's special rights. After that, there were no more kings or queens of Aragon. Later Spanish rulers, like Isabella II, still used some old titles from Aragon in their documents.
