Russia has many different kinds of natural areas called ecoregions. These are special places where plants, animals, and weather work together in unique ways. These ecoregions are found all across the country and belong to a bigger group called the Palearctic realm, which includes most of Europe and Asia. There are 49 main ecoregions in Russia, each with its own type of environment or "biome."

Russia is home to 8 out of the 14 main types of biomes on Earth. These biomes include places like forests, grasslands, deserts, and tundra. Each biome has its own special plants and animals that have adapted to live there. For example, some areas have thick forests with tall trees, while others have wide-open spaces covered in grass or snow.

The list of ecoregions helps scientists and nature lovers understand how these different areas are connected and how they support wildlife. By studying these ecoregions, we can learn how to protect them and the animals that live there. Russia’s many ecoregions show the amazing variety of nature found in this big country.
