Lyrapyge

Lyrapyge is an extinct group of ancient sea creatures called trilobites. These small, hard-shelled animals lived in the oceans millions of years ago. They were related to modern crabs, spiders, and insects.
Lyrapyge lived during a time called the Arenig stage of the Ordovician Period, about 478 to 471 million years ago. Like other trilobites, they had segmented bodies and were important to the early ocean ecosystems. Studying these fossils helps scientists learn about how life developed in the seas long before dinosaurs existed.
