New Era (Namibia)

The New Era is a daily national newspaper in Namibia, owned by the Government of Namibia. It is one of four main daily newspapers in the country, along with The Namibian, Die Republikein, and Allgemeine Zeitung. The newspaper was created in 1992 by an act called the New Era Publications Corporation Act.

It started as a weekly paper, then became bi-weekly, and has been published daily since 2004. The New Era is printed in English and five local languages: Otjiherero, Oshiwambo, Damara/Nama, Silozi, and Khwedam.
