The orange blossom is the fragrant flower of the Citrus sinensis (orange tree). It is famous for its lovely smell and is used in making perfume. Many people have written stories about how the orange blossom might help people feel extra happy.

Orange blossom essence is important for creating perfumes. The petals can also be turned into orange flower water, which is used instead of rose water in cooking. This special water is a common ingredient in both French cuisine and Middle Eastern cuisine, especially in sweet foods and baked goods. It is also used in some foods from Spain and Mexico, like Mexican pan de muerto and Spanish Roscón de Reyes.

In the United States, orange flower water is often used to make orange blossom scones. The orange blossom is even the special state flower of Florida.

In Spain, the orange blossom gives its name to the Costa del Azahar ("Orange Blossom Coast") along the coast of Castellon. When the blossoms fall, they are sometimes dried to make a nice tea.
