Zac Brown
Zac Brown, born on July 31, 1978, is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as the co-founder and lead singer of the country Zac Brown Band.
Brown has also created music with an electronic dance music group called Sir Rosevelt.
In 2019, Zac Brown released a pop surprise album named The Controversy. This showed his ability to explore different styles of music beyond country. His work has made him a well-known name in the music world.
Early life
Zac Brown grew up near Lake Lanier in Georgia. His mother and stepfather, a dentist in Cumming, Georgia, raised him. He attended several schools and finished at Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega, Georgia.
When he was 8, Zac's mother gave him a guitar. He learned to play it and loved bluegrass music. In his teenage years, he took singing lessons and performed music locally, inspired by James Taylor. He later attended the University of West Georgia and helped with summer camps.
Other ventures
In 2012, Zac Brown bought a studio in Nashville and turned it into a place for artists to record music.
He also invested in a distillery in Georgia, but it closed in 2018. Brown has appeared on TV shows like Treehouse Masters and Survivor. He also started a knife company called Southern Grind Knives in Peachtree City, Georgia.
Personal life
In 2018, Zac Brown and his wife Shelly ended their marriage after 12 years. They have four daughters and a son.
In August 2023, Brown married model and actress Kelly Yazdi. They separated later that year and planned to divorce. Brown started dating jewelry designer Kendra Scott, and they announced their engagement in July 2024.
